I love your chevron scarf pattern and have started knitting it BUT the right side row does NOT make sense if it is a repeat of 12 + 3 – the last direction says to follow pattern to last 12 stitches, K9, K2tog, K1 – BUT at the start of the row it says – K1, S1P – and to me that equals a 12 stitch repeat + 2????? The Wrong side row does provide for a 12 stitch repeat + 3.

Is it ME????? Am I missing something??????

Please reply as I am anxious to continue with this pattern

Thank you for the question – it is entirely possible that the pattern is incorrect, but let me do a sample and get back to you later today. I have somehow – stupidly – lost the scarf.

The stitch count is correct – I think I see the problem you are having: Row 1 says: “k1, sKp” – skp is worked over TWO stitches – slip 1st stitch purlwise, knit the 2nd stitch, pass the 1st stitch over the 2nd (one stitch decreased).
I cast on 27 stitches for a sample and the math worked out okay, but let me know if you are still having trouble.

Quick note – have you tried knitting a sample? There is a note at the beginning of the pattern which states the Right side row count will vary from the Wrong side.
